E-MAIL MARKETING 2003-2008

Approach

We utilized a third party service that managed our email list, tracked open and click rates, generated the emails from our HTML and blasted the campaigns to the email lists and ensured delivery. Many restrictions were imposed on the design of the emails - most notably only old HTML markup could be used - no CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) was allowed.

The links below represent a sampling of email broadcasts that were sent out to lists of up to 1,500 brokers.

E-MAIL MARKETING 2008-Present

The Democratization of Email Marketing Technology

Within the past 5 years, several companies have emerged to make email broadcasting for small businesses more affordable yet cutting edge. Constant Contact and Campaign Monitor are two of the more widely used services. Now, the end user can control all the functionality and customize everything via a web interface using the new services.

The Proof of Concept – Princeton Properties

I developed a marketing campaign for a client that relied on email marketing as the primary medium to reach the target audience – NYC office brokers. The email was targeted for 2 main email clients – Outlook 2003 and 2007. All spacing and layout was achieved with inline CSS.

The Results

Campaign Monitor was chosen due to its testing features, reporting tools and email browser preview feature. The first campaign had 5% bounce-outs on a new list of almost 900. The open rate was almost 30% and the click through rate was approximately 10%!
